Everything you want to do, from calling and video chatting with family, to sharing photos and getting directions, is organized in a single list on one screen with large, legible letters. Voice typing makes writing emails and texts effortless. There are even how-to guides right on the phone if you ever need help learning new features.
The Jitterbug Smart4 has a 6.75” color display.
There are front and dual rear cameras on the Jitterbug Smart4. The front camera takes pictures at a resolution of 8 MP. The rear cameras include a 13 MP camera with auto focus, a 2 MP fixed focus with flash and 2MP closeup camera.
You may tag a contact as a favorite to quickly find your most frequently dialed contacts.
There are 13 pre-loaded ringtones available for selection.
Yes, the Jitterbug Smart4 has built-in GPS to help guide you when using turn-by-turn directions in Google Maps, as well as finding your location in any critical situation when you use the optional Lively Urgent Response Service. Urgent Response is available with Preferred and Premium Lively Plans.
The Jitterbug Smart4 has 32GB of storage, which should allow you to take many pictures and videos. Up to 512GB of external storage can be added with a Micro SD card, sold separately.
The Jitterbug Smart4 features an easy-to-use Lively experience based on a customized version of the Android 13 operating system.
If your home already has Internet access and a Wi-Fi network, sometimes called a “wireless network,” you can connect your phone to your Wi-Fi connection to reduce data usage on your monthly data plan allowance.
When successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network, all data usage will go through your home’s Internet access instead of Lively's cellular network.
NOTE: Periodically check the Status Bar to confirm if you are connected to Wi-Fi. If not, data use may be deducted from your monthly data allowance. If you are connected to Wi-Fi, you will see this in the Status Bar.
- On the Home screen, drag to scroll down, and tap Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- On the top gray bar, tap Off to change to On. If the bar is blue and marked On, it's on.
- Tap your network name from the list.
- Enter the network password and tap CONNECT
NOTE: Tap “Show password” to view the text as you type. If you don't know your network name or password, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
No, Wi-Fi does not use Lively’s cellular service, so no deduction to your monthly data allowance would apply.
There is a large button on the right side of the device, just above the power/lock button. The upper part of the volume button increases volume, and the lower part of the button decreases volume.
To get the most out of your Jitterbug Smart4, it is important that you link your device to a Google account, also known as Gmail. If you don’t have a Gmail account, we highly recommend setting one up. It is the best way to keep your contacts, emails, calendar events, tasks, and apps backed up and protected in case anything happens to your phone. It will also grant you access to the Google Play Store, which allow you to download apps and update your existing apps.
Creating an account is free. You will have the ability to sign into an existing Gmail account or create a new one when you setup your phone for the first time or when you open the Play Store app for the first time.
If you do not have an email address you can create a Gmail account right on your Jitterbug Smart4 when setting it up for the first time or when opening the Play Store app for the first time. Setting up a Gmail account is free and allows you to download additional apps on your phone.
Yes, the Jitterbug Smart4 supports numerous Bluetooth accessories up to Bluetooth version 5.0. Because Bluetooth accessories can vary drastically, please refer to the accessory manufacturer’s User Guide on specific instructions on pairing it to your phone.

The Jitterbug Smart4 has a hearing aid compatibility (HAC) rating of M3/T4 and will work with most hearing aids. Powerful dual speakers make conversations loud and clear. There's also a live call captioning optioning for seeing spoken words as text in real time while on a call.
